RECOVERY and HEALING
For Survivors
ARC - Association for the Recovery of Children has partnered with Regenerative Cellutions Inc, Milagro Pharma Foundation and Dr. Landon Pryor, to provide healing therapies and reconstructive surgeries, as needed, to survivors of child trafficking.
ARC is one of the first rescue organizations to recognize one of the most important missing components to trauma recovery for sex trafficked victims. That missing component is the ability to repair damaged DNA. Survivors of this degree of complex trauma often require extensive, long-term care to heal from the "hidden wounds" of psychological, physical, and emotional abuse.
Aftercare programs provide victims with food, shelter, and multiple resources to strengthen the mind, body and spirit, yet some survivors still find themselves seeking hospital care for skeletal weakness and failing organ functions. Organ systems that should be working together to maintain homeostasis sometimes do not. Trauma can cause organ systems and basic life processes like metabolism (energy processing), responsiveness (reacting to stimuli), movement, growth, and reproduction to fail -- as though trauma has programmed the body to die. During the trafficking victimization, physical and mental health degradation as well as the use of drugs and alcohol is reinforced daily. This causes victims to suffer from severe, long-lasting health issues, including chronic pain, permanent injuries, autoimmune disorders, and malnutrition. Mental health effects include PTSD, anxiety, depression, and severe memory loss. As a coping mechanism to endure constant pain and abuse, victims may dissociate, creating a mental disconnection from physical reality. They live in a permanent "fight or flight" state, which can result in long-term damage to their nervous system.
ARC has partnered with Milagro Pharma Foundation and Regenerative Cellutions Inc, to bring trafficking survivors a first-of-its-kind innovative healing protocol for trauma-damaged DNA. Forced abnormal thought processes, survival mechanisms and addictions must be addressed physiologically, emotionally and spiritually at the DNA level so sex-trafficked victims can lead fulfilling lives without constant relapse, self-destructive patterns and debilitative diseases. The sex-trafficking survivor's mental outlook and their “normalized patterns of survival” are more than mental and physical coping mechanisms. They are programed “Cellular DNA traumas."
Regenerative Cellutions Inc, is the leader in developing and implementing one-of-a-kind groundbreaking regenerative protocols designed to address sex trafficking survivors' unique challenges on a biological, cellular and DNA level. This is the only aftercare protocol that address all levels of programed DNA disfunction, metabolic pathway interference and cellular dis-regulation.
Dr. Landon Pryor Survivors of physical abuse can carry physical as well as psychological scars long after the acute stress has ended. In order to expand our scope of services for rescued victims of trafficking, ARC has partnered with Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Landon Pryor. Having completed a Pediatric and Craniofacial Fellowship in 2008, Dr. Pryor brings a diverse background of reconstructive surgical skills to those in need. With the goals of helping to restore physical form and facilitate emotional closure to constant reminders of an abusive past, Dr. Pryor is able to improve quality of life and offer this underserved community a fresh start. Commonly performed procedures include outpatient repair of traumatic deformities, scar revisions and tattoo removal. Healing of the body, mind and spirit after this kind of suffering requires a complex multifaceted approach, but ARC continues to add collaborative resources to its growing team in an effort to help bring each individual back to health and wholeness.
